21st Century Travel Insurance is proud to introduce the latest
version of the Visitors to Canada product.
There have been many changes made to the “V05”
version of the 21st Century Travel Insurance Visitors to Canada
Insurance policy. We urge you to read this bulletin carefully, and then
review the new policy from cover to cover to fully understand the terms
and conditions. In particular, you should review the new pre-existing
condition exclusions (Excl. 1 & 2) and be aware that coverage for Stable
Chronic Conditions, known as the “SCC Option” is now optional beginning
at age 60 (formerly optional beginning at age 70). Because of this
change, family rates are only available if all family members are under
age 60.
In particular, please note the following changes in the policy:
-
The pre-existing condition exclusion has been
re-written. It has the same intended meaning as before, but should
now be easier to read and understand.
-
All policy definitions should be reviewed but
look closely at the definition of Deductible Amount which explains
the new Disappearing Deductible.
-
The wallet card is now attached to the cover of
the policy for your convenience. We have also now contracted with
ACM (“Active Care Management”) to provide 24 hour/7 days a week
claims assistance so there is a new toll-free phone number to report
emergency claims plus a new collect call number that can be used to
report claims from outside of Canada. The Claims Assistance phone
number of 1-866-228-6386 that was on prior versions of our Visitor’s
plan is still being used, but now that number is to be used for
general claim enquiries, status updates, etc. - in other words, once
there is no longer an emergency element to the claim.
OTHER COVERAGE CHANGES
-
$150,000 Policy Limit is no longer available from
age 60 to 69. The $150,000 Aggregate Policy Limit was previously
offered up to age 69, but will now only be available to age 59. Note
that we still offer the bonus feature on the $100,000 option (up to
age 85). With the bonus feature, up to $100,000 is provided for
hospital/medical expenses resulting from sickness and up to $150,000
for hospital/medical expenses resulting from an injury.
-
Reminder – We still cover uninterrupted flights
to and from Canada!
-
Reminder – Our Territorial Limitation is still
extremely flexible. Insurance to start in another country prior to
the visit to Canada (max 15 days). You can also continue coverage
for a short stay in another country after they leave Canada
following their visit (max 15 days). The maximum overall number of
days allowed outside of Canada (before, during or after the visit)
is still 30 days.
